77 Prints bio picture

So you want to know about me?

Let's start with the basics: my name is Clare and I live in Dallas. Here are a few random facts that might help you understand who I am...

- Received my BA in Art from Rhodes College but begged them to say "Art History" for my parents' benefit when I graduated. No dice.

- Wrote my senior thesis on this painting during my junior year while everyone else was in Florida on Spring Break. 11 years later and I'm still bitter.

- Interned at a small gallery where I was privileged enough to have works by Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, Walker Evans and Lewis Hine at my fingertips. Got valuable first hand experience on how to deal with a certain shipping service when they destroyed a rare painting in transit to another gallery.

- Would give anything for the chance to be a concert photographer for a summer or twelve.

I think it’s pretty appropriate that these guys are my first official shoot of the Fall season since their sessions are consistently among the most viewed on my blog – not to give them a big ego, or anything   Today we met up for what I’ll call “a day in the life” kind...

{ blast from the past }

I said back in June that I was going to try and repost some photos from last year’s sessions from time to time, but I got distracted by… well, it doesn’t take much. Anyway, I’m here to make amends! This was a great session from last Fall at SMU – aren’t little boys the best?...

{ annie & blake }

This weekend while I was at the lake I had a mini-session with some dear friends’ children, Annie and Blake. These sessions are always so special for me, having known Mom and Dad long before either of these cuties was a twinkle in their eye! We had a couple of things working against us this...

So much of this job hinges on the weather. When it’s good it’s good and when it’s bad it’s… actually not that bad. It did rain overnight, but it wasn’t raining this morning so we went ahead with our bluebonnet shoot. The weather reports indicated that storms were coming within two hours so the clock...

I never ever worry about a session with these guys. I know I will always come away with a ton of great photos – just look at all this sweetness! It doesn’t get much easier. I snapped a few portraits while everyone was getting ready this morning and then we headed over to the park...

{ emma & annie }

After my adventures on I-30 this morning, I finally got to Fort Worth so that I could take photos of little Emma and Annie. Emma is officially the freshest newborn I’ve ever photographed – she was born on Tuesday! Both of the girls’ rooms got great light so we bounced back and forth between the...

When I’m not taking pictures, I love designing invitations for my friends. It just so happens that all my friends have little ones, so kids’ birthday invites tend to be the biggest request. Below is just some of the work I’ve done this past year. Sorry for the blurries – don’t want internet strangers showing...
