77 Prints bio picture

So you want to know about me?

Let's start with the basics: my name is Clare and I live in Dallas. Here are a few random facts that might help you understand who I am...

- Received my BA in Art from Rhodes College but begged them to say "Art History" for my parents' benefit when I graduated. No dice.

- Wrote my senior thesis on this painting during my junior year while everyone else was in Florida on Spring Break. 11 years later and I'm still bitter.

- Interned at a small gallery where I was privileged enough to have works by Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, Walker Evans and Lewis Hine at my fingertips. Got valuable first hand experience on how to deal with a certain shipping service when they destroyed a rare painting in transit to another gallery.

- Would give anything for the chance to be a concert photographer for a summer or twelve.

A friend of mine invited me to come check out her friend’s band at Granada. Thank goodness I believe people every once in awhile when they say, “I think you’ll like them!” I did. I do. Beautiful music, haunting and uplifting all at the same time. Definitely check Balmorhea out if they come through your...

No, that’s not a typo. This is Miike Snow (with two i’s) from Sweden. Really enjoy their music, although it was 10,000 degrees tonight at Granada. And here I was fretting about missing my workout, pshh. I sweat enough to count for at least 2 hours of cardio. Never thought I’d welcome 97 degree temperatures, but...

I have returned! After a very hectic May filled with 3 weddings and 4 trips, I am finally back home and somewhat caught up on work (and laundry). Definitely not sleep. Oh, and I had a birthday in there somewhere. Here are some photos from the past month.

Seeing these lads again in July. That tambourine was a 30th birthday gift and the book was a gift from the friends I’ll be seeing in July at the show. Do I have awesome friends or what?

Technically it is after midnight, but once again: I make the rules. And I just got home, so I wasn’t able to upload it until now. On a related note, I implore you to check out the band Dawes. Behold, their pedals:

{ 2010 schedule }

A lot of folks have emailed me and asked if I am taking reservations for 2010 sessions – yes I am! I am busy working on some new things for 2010, so if you’ve asked me for a date and I haven’t responded, I have not forgotten you!
I hope this weekend that I will announce...
