77 Prints bio picture

So you want to know about me?

Let's start with the basics: my name is Clare and I live in Dallas. Here are a few random facts that might help you understand who I am...

- Received my BA in Art from Rhodes College but begged them to say "Art History" for my parents' benefit when I graduated. No dice.

- Wrote my senior thesis on this painting during my junior year while everyone else was in Florida on Spring Break. 11 years later and I'm still bitter.

- Interned at a small gallery where I was privileged enough to have works by Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, Walker Evans and Lewis Hine at my fingertips. Got valuable first hand experience on how to deal with a certain shipping service when they destroyed a rare painting in transit to another gallery.

- Would give anything for the chance to be a concert photographer for a summer or twelve.

{ hailey & kate, redux }

I met up with these sweet girls again to see if we could get a few more shots of them since our last session was not quite as long as we needed and the bright sun was almost too much of a good thing! It was a gorgeous sunny day in Dallas, but this time...

{ 40 Days of Photos: Day 40 }

Well here we are at Day 40. I would love to tell you this was really hard, but I love taking photos. It was challenging to be sure, but not an impossible task. Maybe I should have thought of something more difficult. Or given up Diet Coke (PERISH THE THOUGHT). But I don’t need Lent...

I never ever worry about a session with these guys. I know I will always come away with a ton of great photos – just look at all this sweetness! It doesn’t get much easier. I snapped a few portraits while everyone was getting ready this morning and then we headed over to the park...

{ 40 Days of Photos: Day 39 }

Today was a working day, so I didn’t have much time for other photos – this one was taken on my way home from this morning’s session.  Yum yum yum. I could go for some shrimp right about now. The abundance of seafood is one of the best parts of the Lenten season.

{ 40 Days of Photos: Day 37 }

This is a terribly lame entry, forgive me.  But when I got home from work and opened the fridge to see what I could eat for dinner, I couldn’t help but laugh. Gee, should I have a glass of wine and some condiments? Or some 3 week old strawberries? Perhaps some butter? Please note the...

{ 40 Days of Photos: Day 35 }

Only 5 days left… luckily the weather should be good the rest of the week so I hope to get more of these outdoor shots as I wind this project down.
This squirrel was obviously used to cameras and people. He kept running back and forth between open grass and this little tree root where he...

{ emma & annie }

After my adventures on I-30 this morning, I finally got to Fort Worth so that I could take photos of little Emma and Annie. Emma is officially the freshest newborn I’ve ever photographed – she was born on Tuesday! Both of the girls’ rooms got great light so we bounced back and forth between the...
