I think I have a new favorite spot for photographing kids – the Arts District! I’ve photographed the buildings plenty of times, but I’ve never added people to the mix until today at the suggestion of Courtney. She’s a dance teacher at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and thought it would be fun to take photos around the school which is situated in the heart of the Dallas Arts District. She was right! We had a great time following little Avery around as she climbed, swung, jumped and splashed her way around the block! Last year when I photographed her at the Arboretum, Avery had just started walking. All a distant memory, because this girl did not stop for over 2 hours! She gave us a good workout, for sureI think the theme of the day was “Miss Independent” – she wanted to do everything on her own and had absolutely no fear. I wish I had one quarter of her energy and personality! Since this was a very long session (three and a half 4GB memory cards, holy cow!) this will be a much longer preview than I normally post – I think we all earned it in sweat equity today!
